Hello, all! Have any of you read the Three Sisters Island Trilogy by Nora Roberts? I ordinarily wouldn't be into her kind of books, but I really liked these. The trilogy is comprised of Dance Upon the Air, Heaven and Earth, and Face the Fire. I'd be curious to know what people think of them in general. If there are any Wiccans on here who are willing to discuss the books, I'd be interested to hear what you think of roberts' portrayal of Wicca.

I loved this series. I love Nora Roberts in general but find this trilogy especially interesting. She has also writtten a couple other trilogies that deal loosely with witchcraft.

I love it too. I read dance upon the air on cassette, and am now reading Heaven and Earth in braille.
Nora Roberts usually writes the same old love story I've found though, and it gets rather boring.
but I liked her Key trilogy too.
light knowledge valor?

Yes, the Key trilogy was another one that dabbled in the topic of witches. Another one that involves this subject matter includes the books, Captivated, Enchanted, and...I can't think of the third one. But you could go to her website and get a list of all her titles or search the online catalog on the NLS site. I think there might even be another series from her dealing with witchcraft. She is clearly fascinated by the topic herself.

Hi, all! Glad you guys have read these and enjoy them, too. thanks for your recommendations of the Key Trilogy. I'll have to go check it out. Are they up on Web-Braille? That where I got the Sisters books from. I really hadn't planned to read anymore of Roberts stuff, because she does tend to tell the same love story over and over, and you can predict how it will end. But the journey to that ending is the fun part.

Who's your favorite Sisters character? In the female, mine's ripley, and in the male, it's Sam. yes, I know they didn't end up together, which is good actually, but they're my favorites.

I've come up with the titles for the other series I mentioned. First is Captivated, then Entranced, then Charmed and Enchanted.

Well, even though I am not into witch craft at all, I love the three sisterss island. I love all of Nora roberts books, one good series she's got is called, well I don't know what's called, but the books are Born in ice, Born in fire, and Born in shame. It's really good, it's about these three sisters in Ireland, if you're into Irish culture, you will love these books.

I loved that trilogy also. Another good trilogy if you like Irish culture and mysticism is Jewels of the Sun, Tears of the Moon, and Heart of the Sea. I'm not sure that this is the correct order of these three books, but you can look them up on the NLS site and get the correct order to read them in.

Hi, Becky. Are those available on WebBraille to download?

Post 12 by PurringTurtle (Generic Zoner) on Wednesday, 03-Jan-2007 2:25:37

Ooh, I am going to have to check some of those out. I didn't care for the captivated, enchanted books, but I loved the Key trilogy and Three Sisters. I also like the In Death books that she wrote as J. D. Robb. They are very different from her other stuff, but that can be a good thing. I like both for different reasons. In Death can be a bit violently graphic though.

The Key trilogy is my favorite. I need to download more of her stuff, the trilogies yall have mentioned. I've been meaning to.

Dawn, I don't use web braille so don't know what books are available on it. I just get books on tape from the regular NLS service.

Ok, so some of these sound really good. Are they classic gooshy romances though? One of those books, where by the end of the first side, you know how it'll turn out?

Thanks!

Post 16 by HauntedReverie (doing the bad mango) on Tuesday, 16-Jan-2007 18:45:55

yes. Especially in this particular trilogy. I started reading Face the Fire in braille, and can't get through it. I'm gonna send it back. ug. Got too Cliche'.

I don't think the Key trilogy books are typical. They have elements of mysticism/witchcraft in them which makes them more interesting than typical romances.

Post 19 by emerald (Generic Zoner) on Saturday, 27-Jan-2007 9:12:55

Well I have read all of Morra Roberts books, and I can't say that all of are the same, but she is a Romance writer, so you all know that has to be some kind of conflict between two of the charitors, if those aspect w wouldn't be Romance ... Now wouldn't it?????? Get a clue people. By the way the Key book are the best. Has anyone read the circle books?

Post 22 by Blue Velvet (I've got the platinum golden silver bronze poster award.) on Sunday, 06-May-2007 10:25:00

Do you have a dual cassette deck? A couple times when I wanted to keep a book, I would copy an NLS book that way.

Post 23 by HauntedReverie (doing the bad mango) on Sunday, 06-May-2007 16:51:31

yeah, I think so, but the books from my state's library for the blind are four track cassettes

Post 24 by Blue Velvet (I've got the platinum golden silver bronze poster award.) on Monday, 07-May-2007 0:27:30

I know, but if you copy them on a dual cassette deck, they record in 4-track format.

I only downloaded them yesterday. I'll eventually look in to them.
That cassette thing sounds of some interest.
